  • Days go by... (Phynley has arrived)

Well, as Keith Urban said in his song "Days go by, I can feel them flying like a hand out the window in the wind."  Moments like I have had this week make me realize that I am not as young as I once was...and how much changes as the days do go by.

My bestest friend from my youth has gained a new title...MOMMY!  I can still remember walking each other to the seminary building that was half way between our houses, so neither of us would have to walk too far by ourselves.  I also remember turning in circles all the way from your house to mine, do you remember that?  I remember eating cream of chicken and rice together.  I remember petty little fights between me, you, and Megan and the different "best" friend moments.  I remember waiting to skate the "snowball" at classic skating, and being so jealous when you were chosen before me.  I remember our "telephone boyfriends" that we met at classic skating and never saw them again, but claimed we were "boyfriend and girlfriend" with them for months.  Don't remember their names though.  I remember talking about starting a singing group and thinking that I would never cut it.  We have had some good times from the time you were 9 and I was 8.  Here is the only picture from our youth that I could recover at the moment. (Everything is in storage still.)

This is Phynley Evelyn Hopper...such a beautiful little girl!

I was in HEAVEN holding Phynley.  She is so little.  I couldn't remember how little babies were when they are first born!  It felt good to hold a newborn again.

Seeing Phynley made me think back to when Brody was a newborn, and he was just as little. Here is Jana holding my little boy. (I had just been holding him against me with his bare skin. Sorry again that you are the only person holding Brody without any clothes Jana. )

Love you Jana...and welcome to the best calling you could ever have in this life!  I am so excited for you and I could tell from the few minutes at the hospital that you love your little girl so much, and you are a natural as a mother.  Congrats!!

  • Our backyard views...

Living here at Mindy and Damon's has been fun.  We have been allowed to stay in the basement, which gives a nice little walkout onto their back patio.  Every now and then we get to see some things that we don't usually see from our back windows.  Here's the latest...

This buck is a 4-pointer with 2 eye guards.  Very very pretty painted deer.  Too bad we weren't up in the mountains right?

  • Halloween fun!!

Well with the issues we have been having with our house, we almost let Brody's first Halloween slip away.  But (even if we had to procrastinate) we pulled our stuff together and went and got supplies for our Halloween costumes.  All day yesterday we sat in the kitchen sewing and coloring and cutting to make our fun family costumes for the year.  We decided that we should make a tradition of making costumes every year.  By the time we are done and the kids are old we will have an awesome costume supply!

This morning we got up early are started our VERY FULL DAY!  We decided that, with Brody being a baby, we would make the best of today by just showing off the costumes.

Here is my cute little family.  Comment if you figure out the scheme of the costumes...

We started by visiting my Grandma Ruth.  My mom's mom...

Then we headed over to my other grandma's house.  My dad's mom: Grandma Romig.

I just thought these pictures were so sweet.

We headed up to my visit my Grandpa Romig at the VA Nursing Home.  It was sweet and eye opening to think about my grandma having to leave her husband every day.  She gave him 4 kisses for each of their kids, and one for each of themselves.  I got a bit teary-eyed.  It was very sweet to watch the interaction between the two of them.

After dropping my grandma off back at her place, we stopped by Adam's Grandma Semos' house.  His mom's mom.  She broke her back, so it was a good little visit to see how she was doing as well.

Then we headed to Grandma Dowland's house.  Adam's dad's mom.

We wanted to surprise Grandma and Grandpa, so we headed down to Fairview to see them.  We also got to see Aunt Coey and Aunt Naudia, but they didn't want pictures taken (they were still in PJ's).

And finally we ended up at my brother and sister in law's house: Josh and Kami's house.  There we met up with them, my parents: Mama and Papa, as well as my other brother's family; Jed, Ashley, Ruby and Emma.

Brody's cousin, Courtney was Hannah Montana, and Brody wanted to suck on her head microphone.

Here is Brody with 4 of his cousins, Ruby (Snow White), Whitney (puppy), Emma (giraffe), and Courtney (Hannah Montana).  Cameron was also there for a bit as an inmate, but he was off trick-or-treating when we took pictures.

We ate some chili and breadsticks and then headed out for some trick-or-treating.  We were done after one street because we didn't need the candy, and Brody was getting cold.

It was a lot of fun!

Memories to store away from this year:

    -SEVEN visits (or stops) total!

-Seing every living great-grandparent and grandparent, except for Grandpa Semos.

-Josh scaring little innocent kids with his blood flowing scary mask.

-Adam kissing that mask while Josh was under the hood.

-Getting high off the marker smell from our costumes.

    -Making our costumes!

    -Grand total mileage:  263.62 miles!!!

It was a fun-filled packed day!

  • Updates..

The updates on our situation are....that there are NO updates!  We are thoroughly disappointed with Wells Fargo.  If any of you are planning on buying a house...do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go through Wells Fargo.  It is rediculous how long their underwriters are taking.  Pat, the agent we are working through, keeps saying that he just know that our loan is being put on the backburner...and he claims that he is furious, but in all reality, it isn't his house that he is waiting to close on.  He is not the one living out of boxes because he had been told 4 WEEKS ago that that was when he would close.  I am so sick of Wells Fargo...and I can't wait to be done with communication between us and them.  Other than our monthly mortgage payment, we will be avoiding everything that has to do with Wells Fargo.

Now that I have gotten my mind and frustration out there...did anyone else have this many problems while applying for a mortgage loan?

We seriously have been "waiting" to close since; quote unquote--"the end of September."  REDICULOUS!
